Tina Barton

Tina brings a decade of experience in strategic communications, stakeholder relations, project management, marketing and journalism to her position as Manager, Partnerships at Community Foundations of Canada. She has worked across sectors with a range of non-profit, private sector and media organizations including Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Corel Corporation, and Transcontinental Media.

Born and raised in New Zealand, Tina moved to Canada in 2005, following her passion for travelling and discovering new cultures, foods and horizons. Ever curious, Tina enjoys trying her hand at a variety of community-oriented hobbies, including salsa dancing, playing sports, learning taekwondo and French (at the same time!) travelling, and basement jam sessions with friends.

Tina helps CFC drive its collective and growing partnership work by building and managing relationships, identifying opportunities for collaboration with others, and helping CFC exercise leadership and showcase the collective impact that CFC and public, private and community partners are instigating across the country.

In addition, Tina hosts the IABC podcast “The Voice”, exploring communications strategies and business insights with industry leaders. Tina received an international Award of Excellence in Membership Marketing from IABC in 2014, and a Distinguished Service Award from the Ottawa chapter in 2015 for her community building. Tina has also volunteered with Causeway Work Centre and Ottawa Architecture Week.
