Community Foundations of Canada announces two-year partnership with Foundant TechnologiesWednesday, March 28th, 2018 | JP Bervoets
Community Foundations of Canada is pleased to announce a new two-year partnership with Foundant Technologies focused on exploring the future of community philanthropy through a range of learning and capacity-building initiatives. This new partnership builds on our existing relationship with Foundant, who joined Community Foundations of Canada as a partner at the 2015 and 2017 Community Foundation conferences.
Now with a renewed and strengthened partnership, Foundant will support and help animate Community Foundation of Canada’s new Learning Institute initiative, which will provide a host of online, in-person and experiential learning opportunities for community foundation board and staff across the country.
Foundant will also join over 800 community foundation participants from across Canada and around the world as a plenary partner at the 2019 Community Foundations Conference, taking place in Victoria, B.C. from June 6 to 8. As one of the largest global gatherings for the community philanthropy sector, the 2019 Conference provides a unique opportunity to think about the future of our communities, and how foundations can play a leadership role in strengthening inclusivity, equity, and sustainability as the world works toward meeting the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Most recently, Foundant President Daren Nordhagen joined us as a supporting partner and delegate at the inaugural North American Community Foundations Summit, where leaders from the networks of Canada, Mexico, and the United States came together to network, share knowledge, and discuss the opportunities presented by the Sustainable Development Goals for community foundations as both local and global leaders. Read some of the Summit reflections.
“We’re delighted to have the team from Foundant working alongside both our team at CFC and in close cooperation with many across the country,” says JP Bervoets, Vice President of Community Foundations of Canada. “Together, we’re grappling with important questions about what’s next for community philanthropy, and exploring the different ways we can better leverage data and technology to strengthen and enhance our ability to respond to complex challenges on the horizon.”
“Community foundations are an integral piece of the global philanthropic effort and we’re committed to meeting the technology needs of this unique and special sector with three different product lines: CommunitySuite, Grant Lifecycle Manager, and Scholarship Lifecycle Manager. But we know it’s not enough to simply build and sell technology – we have to support it and the people who use it,” said Daren Nordhagen, Foundant President and Co-Founder. “As we form our first Canadian user groups, we are excited to work with Community Foundations of Canada to establish a network for sharing ideas and best practices with our community foundation clients and partners. Our belief is that our technology can and should make life better for those working ‘in the trenches’ to create better communities for us all.”
